Sounds like a dating website but I hate to disappoint you but it's not. theDIYpal is a wiki website, same as this website, powered by Mediawiki and it's an open edit site so anyone can contribute, either you are logged on or not. We are creating a community based site which topics mainly concerns home improvement, do it yourself and the industry that powers it all. We try to bring together individuals, companies and niche groups who have the same passion or interest. By tapping this knowledge base of a diverse community we hope, we can build a content rich website which can be beneficial to the general public and the industry free of charge. For companies it is almost a directory but not quite, the caveat is for a company to join they have to write an article that is useful to the general public centered on the home improvement topics. What does a company get for doing this? We'll being on the good side of the consumers is one, a permanent link that will direct consumers to the companies site is another, a company can also showcase a new product so a good exposure to customers is always a positive. And how about the average person? What do they get for contributing? I say many benefits, they can share their hobbies to the world, research articles that will help them along on their home improvement projects, contribute articles that will help others on their ongoing projects and most of all they can meet new friends and acquaintances.
