The-Bible

The Bible is a collection of written works compiled by the catholic church hundreds of years after the death of Jesus Christ. The church picked through available writings of early leaders, prophets ect., and compiled the writings that shared thought and subject matter that was in line with the church leaders at the time. This is why in todays world there is conflict arising out of religious texts that speak of Jesus rather openly, but which are excluded from the Bible.

Overall the Bible has two main parts, the Old Testament, and the New Testament. The Old Testament takes place before the birth of Jesus and accounts the history of Hebrew culture and heritage. It's is this part of the Bible you will find all of the historical tales about mans creation, Moses, the trials and tribulations of the prophets and Gods relationship with the Hebrew peoples.

The second part of the Bible, the New Testament follows Jesus' teachings, parables, and life. It then goes into the writings of the early church leaders and then onto revelations, but you don't need to take my word for it. Just pick-up the nearest Bible and begin reading.
